We specialise in the safe transport of SEN (Special Educational Needs) students and adults and anyone with impairments or disabilities. Why? It’s simply our passion! My wife is an SEN teacher with over 30 years experience of working with SLD and PMLD SEN students.
Whilst most taxi companies struggle to appropriately accommodate special needs, Friendly Cabs embraces that privilege and we’ll do everything in our power to ensure that EVERYONE who travels with us leaves our taxis in a better place than when they alighted. Parents and carers are encouraged to contact us prior to any transportation and educate us as to how best we can make that trip as enjoyable and carefree as possible.
We are the only taxi company in the UK that specialises in SEN transport and the only taxi company fully accredited by Communication Access UK. We’re also the only taxi company, that we know of, with Makaton sign language trained drivers. I’m the main driver and I drive all of our SEN passengers. I’m Makaton Level 1 and Level 2 certified, and I’m also fully trained in “Autism Awareness” via the The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training in Learning Disability and Autism course run by Health Education England in conjunction with the NHS.
I love what I do and I trust that all our passengers know and feel that, as they safely travel with us daily.
