A PARTLY SUNNY SATURDAY – 11/04/2026

Good morning, everyone! After a cloudy start, the Met Office is promising blues skies and sun from 12.00 until circa 20.00, after which we’ll see cloud take over, with the possibility of rain until 22.00. Temperatures will range from 8 to 10 degrees C, accompanied by moderate WSW (becoming SW) winds.

The following Red Funnel vehicle ferry sailings have been “cancelled due to unplanned essential maintenance.”
From Southampton – 11.00 and 14.00
From East Cowes – 12.30

The following Red Jet sailings have been “cancelled due to a technical issue.”

From Cowes – 10.20

Wightlink will be running a single boat service on its Ryde to Portsmouth FastCat route for the rest of today (Saturday). The withdrawal of the vessel has come after a mechanical issue was discovered with Wight Ryder 2 at around 09:00. As a result, sailings due to depart Ryde at quarter past the hour (xx:15) and those departing Portsmouth at quarter to the hour (xx:45) have been cancelled.

All other island travel services appear to be running to schedule, as of 10.00 this morning, and there are no further reported problems with either our roads or traffic.

Friendly Cabs is closed today and will re-open at 06.00 on Monday. If you’d like to book a taxi for that Monday, or thereafter, then please send us an email to hello@friendlycabs.co.uk. We wish you all a super Saturday!
