Now confirmed. Duncan, our CEO and main driver, will complete the Makaton Stage 2 Course on 16/10/2023.

“I can’t ask our future drivers to do something I’m not prepared to do myself. Whilst learning a whole new language is difficult, we also can’t claim to be specialising in SEN transport unless we, as much as possible, emerse ourselves in the SEN world and have, at least, a basic understanding of where our SEN passengers are and how they might feel. Makaton Sign language gives me that viewpoint. I can sit back and imagine what it would be like to try to see things in a world in which I struggle to communicate. I’m not SEN but I can, at least, try to understand it, and make any trip with Friendly Cabs as easy, straight forward and enjoyable as is humanly possible. That’s my goal.”
Duncan’s wife is a teacher at St. Georges SEN School and has taught SEN children for over 30 years. Their shared passion, to a great extent, is why Friendly Cabs exists.
