ANOTHER MIXED WEATHER FRIDAY AS STORM APPROACHES – 06/12/2024

Good morning, everyone! With Storm Darragh fast approaching it’s difficult to predict exactly what the weather will bring today. As of 07.00  the Met Office is predicting a fairly calm and sunny morning, followed by rain and high winds from 16.00 onwards. Temperatures will fluctuate between 6 and 13 degrees C, accompanied by moderate to high W (becoming SSW) winds.

From the Hover Travel website:

“Services are cancelled due to a technical Issue. The next update will be at 07:45. Tickets will be accepted on the Fast Cat Service.”

Red Funnel is warning of possible disruption today on both their Red Jet and vehicle ferry services.

From the Red Funnel website:

“Due to forecast high winds,our services may encounter disruption between 00:00-2300hrs today (6/12). Please check redfunnel.co.uk/service for updates.

All other island travel services appear to be running to schedule, as of 06.45 this morning, and there are no reported problems with either our roads or traffic.
