A MILD BUT VERY WINDY SUNDAY – 24/11/2024

Good morning, everyone! From the IW Met Service:

“A very mild day but still very windy with patchy rain and drizzle from time to time. Towards evening we will see a band of heavy rain crossing the area from the west. Temperature 15-16°C, Wind south or south-southwest 32-54mph with localised gusts of 65mph, becoming 28-50mph by evening. Rainfall 0-1mm through daylight hours”

The following Red Funnel vehicle ferry sailings have been “cancelled due to ongoing essential maintenance to Red Osprey’s aft Engine.”

From Southampton – 0430, 0730, 1030, 1330, 1630 and 1930 – cancelled

From East Cowes – 0600, 0900, 1200, 1500, 1800 and 2100 – cancelled

From the Hover Travel website:

From the Southern Vectis Twitter Feed:

“Due to the continued high winds, It remains unsafe for the route 12 to use the Military Road. As a result it will divert from Brokk triangle, Newport Road, Afton Road and re -join normal route at Freshwater bay. This diversion will operate in both directions until further notice.”

The remaining IOW travel services appear to be running to schedule, as of 09.00 this morning.
