Good morning, everyone! A foggy start to the day has caused severe disruption to our island ferry services but the Met Office is promising fairly bright and sunny weather from 10.00 until early evening. Temperatures will fluctuate between 11 and 16 degrees C, accompanied by light SW winds.
The Red Funnel vehicle ferry has been suspended until further notice due to the fog. We expect that will have a knock-on effect on all today’s sailings with long delays expected throughout the day.
All of WightLink’s Fast Cat sailings are currently delayed by 20 minutes. The delays are expected to continue until, and including, the 09.00 sailings.
The following WightLink Portsmouth/Fishbourne vehicle ferry sailings have been cancelled today:
08.00, 10.00, 12.00, 1400, 16.00, 18.00, 20.00 – cancelled
From the Floating Bridge website:
“We are experiencing very high spring tides over the next few days which may affect our operation.
19/10/2024 – High Tide 12:48
Operation of the gang plank will not take place at night therefore the 17/10/2024 23:25 High Tide may result in a service Suspension. It is advisable to cross at least 30 minutes before high tide.”
The remaining island travel services appear to be running to schedule and there are no reported problems with either our roads or traffic, thus far.
Friendly Cabs is open and operating normally. We wish you all a fantastic Friday! 01983 506975
