Good morning, everyone. After a very pleasant weekend, the clouds have returned to the island and they are expected to bring rain throughout the day. Temperatures will fluctuate from 15 to 17 degrees C and will be accompanied by light ESE winds.
All Red Funnel vehicle ferries to and from the island today have been cancelled due to a technical issue with the East Cowes linkspan. The linkspan is the drawbridge which connects the ferry to the terminal, allowing vehicles to board and disembark the vessel. Red Kestrel, the freight-only ferry, is also suspended.
WightLink has also cancelled many sailings to and from the island with no reason being given for the cancellations. If you’re planning to sail with them today you’d be advised to check their live status page. Currently the following ferries have been cancelled:
Portsmouth to Fishbourne – 16:40 – Cancelled
The Cowes Floating Bridge is still suspended with no clear word as to when it will resume. It’s been reported that an electrical issue is causing the outage.
The remaining island travel services appear to be running to schedule, as of 07.15 this morning.
Friendly Cabs is open and operating normally. We wish you all a wonderful start to your week. 01983 506975
