Good morning, everyone! The Met Office Yellow Warning for heavy rain negates at 09.00 this morning, after which the day should continue with mostly dry, but cloudy conditions, through until 17.00 when we may see glimpses of the sun. Temperatures will fluctuate between 12 and 16 degrees C, accompanied by moderate W winds. Local wind gusts of up to 48mph can be expected.
Briddlesford Road was closed off last night following a fire at Lynnbottom tip. As well as firefighters, police were in attendance and hard closed the road, saying it would likely be closed “until the morning”. We’re currently unsure if it has been re-opened.
Work on Landguard Road and Landguard Manor Road, Shanklin is scheduled to start today (30/09/2024), and will last for five weeks. Only the section being worked on will be closed, with diversions signposted locally. Pedestrian access will be maintained, with occasional short diversions.
All island travel services appear to be running to schedule, as of 07.15 this morning.
